Record Number of page views for the Imperial Band Club Mellieha website

Here under is a press release sent to all local news papers. The Imperial Band Club in Mellieha was established in 1930 and has since played a very important role in the community in Mellieha. In 1995 a website was created for the band club, where its members as well as other visitors are updated with news about the club. One can even find photos, on-demand videos and calendar of events being organised by the same club. In the year 2000 the band club introduced live streaming of the Mellieha Village feast for locals and foreigners alike to follow the clubs activities. Throughout these period's page views to the website peaked at 50,000 during the 2 weeks activities. More recently, in 2008 however the band club had decided to redesign their website to compliment the increase in user traffic. Statistics proved that the website during the 2 weeks of activities for this year feast has had in excess of 230,000 page views from over 50 different countries, mainly from Australia, Canada, United States of America, United Kingdom and Malta. The band club has recognised the need to promote musical activity in the village of Mellieha and to help the community develop a sense of appreciation of the art of music. The club has also made available its yearly magazine online for download for all its subscriber and visitors alike.
